I have decided to take a little break from my sunday roundup.
I have been a bit tired the last few days and maybe it is just the change of the seasons...going from spring into more summer like weather, but I just do not seem to have a lot of energy for anything right now.
I thought I would mention Anti-virus applications though.
I would hope that everyone has an "Anti-virus" application installed on their computers.
People who use work computers probably have a company sponsored app. sitting on their computers.
But what about at home???
I have tried many different applications and I keep coming back to AVG. What is AVG and why is it one of my favorites??
Well for one it is free!
And not only that but it does what it is supossed to do...and that is it WORKS!
It doesnt hog computer memory or recources (that I am aware of)....
It updates itself in the background and usually once a day for the free version...
It checks incoming and outgoing email for nastys....
It is easy to understand and the layout of it's user interface is sleek and very pleasing on the eyes....

What brought this post to my blog?
I was reading a newsletter that comes via email where the author was discussing anti-virus apps and he was asking for suggestions for people on what they felt he should try...as he was tiring of the application he was currrently using.
His name is Scot Finnee and his newsletter is all about technology and his experiences with different computer related topics. He has been writing for "tech type" magazines for quite a while now and he recently took a job as a senior editor of the online website called ""Computer World".
So I emailed him and told him of my antivirus experiences and he replied last night:
Here is his message to me, which I thought was pretty cool:

Thanks, John!
Nice message. Just because I think you'll appreciate it, the overwhelmingly most frequently mentioned product from well over 200 readers who've sent recommendations in the last 24 hours is AVG.
A lot of IT people are suggesting it too. I'm definitely going to try it again. I recall that I didn't hate when last I looked at it yet. I just wasn't ready to give up on Symantec yet. I freely admit I waited too long.

You can subscribe to his newsletter from that site also. He sends it out about once a month I think.
Warm Regards for a good Tuesday to all....
