The future can sure be cool, esp. when a lot of the future is happening right now before our very eyes.
When I was a kid and I read all those cool "sci.fi" books and magazines, I was (in my imagination) taken to great new worlds and fantastic outer space adventures....now it seems one doesn't even have to read "sci.fi" any more as the things that were mentioned in these fantastic tales are already happening.
I am a science fiction aficionado and as such, everytime I hear or read about something from the realm of science fiction coming into the realm of science fact I think to myself what a cool world we really do live in right now.
For instance, look at the photos to the right. They were taken from a prototype of a new passenger airplane that is currently in production for Boeing. Tell me if the interiors of the cockpit do not remind you of a futuristic starship such as those portrayed in the "Startrek Movie and TV shows"......
The latest article I would like to mention talks about the "cloaking" phenomenon that is used in many of the "Startrek" tv shows and movies. The klingons could make their ships "disappear" by cloaking them with some sort of shield....which made them invisible to the human eye and to instruments that might otherwise be able to detect their presence.
Now some physicists have actually thought of a means to do this.

All I can say is how long before they will be able to "beam" us from one location to another?
Some in the conspiracy circles say that it is already possible and is being done secretly without the knowledge of the average human being. I wouldn't doubt it.
There are probably hundreds of technologies which we are dabbling with but that the people who are working on do not want to "let out of the bag" yet.....or ever.
