Trying out the new version of Microsoft Office 2007 (Beta)

I just downloaded the "Beta" of the new MS Office Suite, labeled "Office 2007" and am going to start playing around with it over the course of the next few days.

I was browsing the Microsoft websites after having read an email I received from them talking about the upcoming beta release to consumers of it's newest OS (Vista) which I blogged about a few posts ago and I came across the download page to try out this upcoming office suite.

I just hope that I do not hose my system by intstalling this beta. I have not had any meltdowns or problems with my current set up in a while now...thankgod!

FYI: Beta software is preliminary code that is not yet ready for production and it is widely available for curious individuals to play with and find bugs and report back to the software maker on said bugs so they can improve the application before it is sold to the end user....so you could label me as a "tester" of sorts.

I am including the link to the Microsoft site if anyone is curious about taking this new software for a test spin:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/getthebeta.mspx

And a link to an overview of what this new office app. promises:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/ui/overview.mspx

(Beware the software is a big download and one should have a broadband connection in order to download it to their system).
