The justice department is now asking the big internet service providors to keep their user's (you and I) online activities and browsing habits and email records for two years.
Usually user records are kept from 30 to 90 days and then the logs are dumped to make room for new logs. Two years worth of user logs? That is going to get very expensive very quickly. And so much for our privacy. With two years of logs at it's disposal, I am sure there is a way that the good old justice dept. will find something "interesting" to do with all that info.
Perhaps building a "national database" on each and every individual in the U.S.??
Time to retire my social security number...it probably wont matter much anyway in the near future.
