Some people just drive me crazy!!!

Have any of you ever read an article that just rubs you the wrong way??

I just did and you know what? I just had to send this "journalist" a letter letting him know how I felt about his "story".

Not everyone may agree with me after reading the article, and that is ok.....but I feel that when someone is reporting on something, they should be beyond reproach and put a bit of thinking into their "thinking.

This is the email that I sent to the Journal Times addressed to this "journalist":

To Mike Moore:

Regarding your article in the newspaper that dealt with the woman who was sentenced in court for the death of the baby she was sitting:

I found your article interesting. But it did seem (at least in my opinion) that you not only totally "ripped this woman to shreds", but you also cast YOURSELF as the subject of the story and much more than that, it seems like you made it seem that YOUR "Holier than though-Goody Two Shoes" lifestyle was something that was so totally different and unimaginable than this young woman's lifestyle (and thoughts and actions) .

How do you know that one of your friends isn't a "crack dealer or user" or that your fiancée may in secret may be taking "Prozac" because she cant handle the reality of her life with you. Or that someone close to you may not ever be involved in a "criminal proceeding" in court...or that, God forbid", one of your own family members may have a secret hiding in their closet that you are unaware of.

I am sure this woman (and the mother) both have tremendous regrets over what happened as well as both of their families. And even though a life was lost (and a friendship in the process) as well as seven years for this woman to be locked up, for something that could have been better dealt with probation and counseling (in my humble opinion). Does anyone think that she will do something like this again??? Come on....she was probably "cracked out", the baby was screaming, she couldn't take the screaming, she decided (unwisely) to try to figure out a way to quiet it and then after coming down from her "high" realized the "tragedy" that had occurred. I can imagine this and I don't think it is too far fetched a "scenario" to have happened. I hope to god that none of your friends or family ever go down this "road"...because if they do, I dont think there would be much support or hand holding from you...that is for sure.

You come across sounding very "pretentious" and for an associate editor of a newspaper, I find that very irritating. You should leave the reporting to facts and not your feelings....and that article made me feel you did just the opposite. I for one am GLAD that I am not one of your FRIENDS, as I would probably be driven crazy by your "self righteous" ways.

A regular Reader
