Very interesting story about how the Bush administration policies had a lot to do with the current financial crisis........

Merry Christmas-Happy Crash Landing
Oops...The plane did not even get off the ground so does that mean it was even a landing...
In Denver, the weather with the mountians can always wreak havoc with airplanes. I have always been a little agitated when flying out of Denver (which I lived out there for a few years in the eighties). I just cant imagine crashing before even flying but I guess if a plane has to crash it is better to do so before it leaves the ground.

Can it get any worse??
The economy is in a recession that we probably have not seen the likes of since the 1930s..
And now this...
Panel warns that a terrorist biological attack likely by 2013, briefing Obama team
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The United States can expect a terrorist attack using nuclear or more likely biological weapons before 2013, reports a bipartisan commission in a study being briefed Tuesday to Vice President-elect Joe Biden. It suggests the Obama administration bolster efforts to counter and prepare for germ warfare by terrorists.

It seems that all the pieces for bringing in a "New World Order" that allot of people have been talking about for some time are coming in to place.
A book I have been reading for some time now (which was authored before 2001) talks about allot of the things that are now happening and have happened in the last few years.
The book titled "Hope of the Wicked" by Ted Flynn is uncanny in its ability to for tell allot of the things that have been happening in the last few years.
It is almost like reading something a time traveler from the future might write if he were to go back in time to warn people of the future. I know that sounds crazy but it is eerie how this guy seems to put things together to come to conclusions and forecasts of things that were NOT happening when he wrote the book but that now are happening.
A bit more about this book and the author can be had by clicking on the link below:

And it seems the book can still be ordered on line through Amazon.com and other places. I am also sure that used bookstores have it on their shelves.

Recession-It is OFFICIAL
What exactly is a recession???
Some people would say that it is when the bottom falls out of whatever is happening in a negative way.
Examples would be:
- your home having less value than what you bought it for
-your paycheck not being enough to cover even the basic things needed to live
-loosing your job because of slow business
and on and on.
And guess what? The Feds have finally admitted that the country has been in one since December of last year.
So what comes next?
A depression? I think that is already here as well.

Hillary Clinton-Close but No Cigar

Even though my choice for President of the U.S. did not come to pass as I had hoped, she will be what amounts to the Third most powerful person in the U.S. come 2009.
Barack Obama (president elect) asked Mrs. Clinton to be his "Secretary of State" in his new administration, which though does not officially start until the middle of Jan. 2009, has already taken on an air of what some call a "parallel presidency" of sorts.
I feel that Hillary will be one of the greatest representatives of this new administration and with her experience and that of her husband (our former president Clinton) and others in this new administration, I think there is now a "light at the end of the tunnel" with a hopeful end to this needless war, a fixing of the economy and other things that the GREATEST NATION on earth needs to do to get things straight once again and to make our nation one that is looked up to by other nations of the world again, like it once was.
I am so hopeful for this new administration and have good feelings about where we are headed with this new leadership. The world needs guidance and I firmly feel that the people that are about to undertake running the greatest country in this world will do us proud.

A Feel Good Story

With all the bad economic news and the articles on the war and Bush's sagging popularity, I thought it would be nice to highlight a "feel good story" of sorts.
The article below (click on link) talks about a couple who through out the 80s, 90s and early 00s became quite popular around the Milwaukee and Chicago area. The male lead (Mike) impersonated Neil Diamond and his wife (Claire) sang songs by Patsy Cline and ABBA. The due was called "Lightning and Thunder".
Back in the mid 90's when I managed a restaurant in Milwuakee by the airport, the couple would come in for dinner about once a week and more often for coffee a few times a week. (I think they lived in the area) and they were always so nice and interesting to converse with.
I had heard that Mike died a few years back and I often wondered what happened to Claire.
Well at least now I know she is still hanging in there and that finally she has met her idol....

Do NOT support the Auto Maker's Bailout!!

All I can say is WA WA Wa....
If the "Big Three" Automakers (and representing them their CEO's) can go to Washington DC in "Multi Million Dollar" corporate jets to BEG for money, then all I can say is THEY DO NOT DESERVE A SINGLE PENNY OF MY TAX PAYER DOLLARS!!!!
This whole thing is beyond the realm of rediculous. It would be like me begging for unemployment compensation and then going out and buying a Mercedes Bennz and putting a downpayment on an ocean front villa.
I hope the people of this nation and those that represent us (our congress) realise this and act accordingly.
What we really need here is money to the consumer to kick start the economy. Another "tax rebate" to each and every person in the amount of thousands of dollars so we can pay off some of our personal debt, give ourselves an "Emergency fund" to cushion ourselves and when it comes down to it....money to eat, pay our bills and live a halfway decent life.
Read on for what one whiny Wisconsin automotive executive has to say.
I do not feel sorry for him in the least. Big company exess has been going on for way too long.
It is time for it to stop.....

Deflation??
I do not ever recall hearing that word while studying economics in school. And if the word was covered, I guess I did not pay enough attention.
But in seeing what is going on with the economy in the country right now, the following article explains the word and what it means.
I would say that we ARE in the beginning of a great recession (depression), the likes of what have not been seen since the 1930s.
It has affected me personally as I recently got laid off from a job that I held for 10 years. I am now thick in the search of looking for a new job and let me tell you that things are not easy at all. Some people are looking but many are not and quite a few people are letting their employees go for lack of business.
I sure hope our new government coming into office this coming Jan. can figure out a way to reverse this downward slide and help to boost our economy and all that it entails into a forward movement.

A good article on how to help Main St and Wall St
This article is from Foreign Policy.com
Though I do not often agree with some of the things that their writers talk about, this story has points that make some sense. The article is called "Stop the Bleeding Hank" in reference to Henry Paulson, the head of the treasury of our government:

The End of Free Market Economy...
The financial crisis keeps widening and now it looks like our "Free Market Economy" as we have known it is coming to an end...
What is next?
Governments owning the banks and the ability to control the monetary systems of the world?
Massive oversight of all investments through out the world?
Governments owning not only banks but large companies such as insurance conglomerates?
All of the above and more I say....
This is just the start of what the NWO (New World Order) has proposed and has been working towards for some time now. I didnt think I would honestly see some of these things come to pass in my lifetime but it is all there.
Every day the news has more information on all this happening. Economic and financial history are changing and changing again right before our eyes...sometimes so much that we cant even digest the changes as they are happening.
Read on for the latest (and an interesting quote from the story below as well:
"Krause also said the “era of free markets is over.” “When we’re starting to see the government come in with hundreds of billions of dollars to make loans, buy preferred securities and equity — wow, that is managed capitalism,” he said."

Taking Hard New Look at a Greenspan Legacy
When I was growing up I was told that Greenspan was one of the smartest men in the world and the economy would not be what it was without him.
Well, after reading this article it seems we can really thank him for this mess that we are now in.
The previous few days of news do not seem to be getting any better in regard to our economic situation even with the 700 Billion dollar bailout taking shape.

Now if they could only find Amelia Earhart

It seems they have found the wreckage of Steve Fosset's plane in some wooded area of the Sierra Nevada. I figured in time they would find it.
When I was in Washington D.C. a few months ago, we visited the museum of Flight and they had a nice exhibit on his adventures and some of the things he accomplished including parts of the baloon aperatus that he used on that solo flight around the world.
Now if they could only find that other famous lost aviator.....

A Time Line for the Near Future???
This is part of a story I blogged about a few days ago but i felt that a few paragraphs merited further scrutiny (mentioning would be a better word).
Let us see how "on the mark" Mr. Strieber is on this one...
Let me give you a timeline.
-First, the most likely time for a terror attack is this October. It hits us just as the economy is collapsing, and disrupts the presidential election.
If it strikes Washington, the country takes the worst blow it has ever taken in its history. As there is no continuity of government plan in effect that takes the possibility of the sudden disappearance of Washington into account, it is literally anybody's guess what might happen next.
-At the same time, bailout or no bailout, over the next eight weeks we will see extraordinary changes in financial markets and in our lives.
Without a bailout, we will see credit dry up and banks fail. With one, we will see the dollar collapse.
In terms of the environment, it is likely that scientists will announce sometime this fall that methane outgassing has taken place over the summer at unprecedented levels. We will begin to see its effects next winter.
The wild card here is the sun. If it remains quiescent, there will be fewer coronal mass ejections and therefore less heat reaching earth's atmosphere. (How the sun affects our weather is controversial, but there is general agreement that it gets warmer during solar maxima.)
At present, the solar wind is probably as low as it has ever been, so the sun could help us here.I think that there is a very real risk of terrorism and social upheaval right now, or those troops would not have been deployed to the U.S.
It could be--in fact, it's probable--that the bailout will be approved by congress in some form this weekend.
If that happens, the stock markets will respond explosively next week and gold will plummet. If so, it would be a good time to put cash into the yellow stuff, it seems to me.

House defeats $700 billion financial industry bailout
Alternate Title: The Big House Comes Crashing Down..
Someone is finally thinking with their head instead of their asses in Washington...
Well at least it looks that way on the surface.
Time will tell I guess...
I really do not understand Paul Ryan who is supposed to be one of the authors of the this new and improved bail out package....
Some quotes from the leaders in my neck of the woods:
......Kagen, an Appleton Democrat in a tight re-election race, said he too was thinking about his constituents when he cast his vote.
"I was elected to represent the hard-working people in Wisconsin, not billionaires on Wall Street," said Kagen, one of 95 Democrats who voted against the bill. "I'm convinced there's a better way of doing things."
......Ryan, a Janesville republican gave an impassioned speech on the House floor, asking his colleagues to set aside politics and vote for the bill.
"We're all worried about losing our jobs," he said. "Most of us say, 'I want this thing to pass but I want you to vote for it, not me.'"
Ryan, who worked to amend the rescue bill, said he was convinced that Congress needed to act quickly to avert economic disaster as the credit markets dry up and people across the country find it more difficult to obtain mortgages and car loans.
"We're in this moment and if we fail to do the right thing, heaven help us," he said.
There was an email that circulated last week that though it was in jest and was kind of funny, made a little common sense.
It had to deal with the matter at hand and suggested that the $700 Billion Dollar package be distributed evenly amongst all U.S. citizens 18 and older....this money would be taxed right away, putting money back into the federal coffers and the rest (which would amount to about $200,000 a person could (and would) be used to jump start the economy by letting people pay off bills, buy houses and or cars, put into banks to save for college, buy electronics and a plethora of other things that would in turn make the economy and it's wheels spin like it hasnt spun in a long time (think Regan era).
The more I think about it the more sense it makes to me. Now there is a plan that would help everyone including the rich bankers and the Wall Street firms (and the government......)
Add to all this at home, there is now some of the same things going on overseas.....
Wall Street found further reason for worry overseas.
Three European governments agreed to a $16.4 billion bailout for Fortis NV, Belgium's largest retail bank, and the British government said it was nationalizing mortgage lender Bradford & Bingley, which has a $91 billion mortgage and loan portfolio. It was the latest sign that the credit crisis has spread beyond the U.S.

A Great Article on the Current State of the Economy
This comes from Witley Streiber who wrote a few books years ago bases on his experiences of what he thought were extra terrestriel beings....he is a smart guy and has alot of relevent things to say....
A Time of Extraordinary Peril24-Sep-2008
There are rumors floating around the beltway that the credit crisis was intentionally triggered by gigantic short sales that were orchestrated in London and Dubai, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared "that 'the American empire' is nearing collapse and should end its military involvement in other countries."
At the same time, as reported in the Unknowncountry.com Newsletter and on Unknowncountry.com, the 3rd Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team will be deployed to the US mainland beginning on October 1 for 12 months. The brigade will have the most advanced nonlethal weapons in the army's arsenal. It is trained in crowd control and how to deal with massive terror assaults, such as nuclear attacks.
I have to tell you, I am concerned that things are coming apart in major, indeed fundamental ways, and I would not be in the least surprised to see that the financial collapse is followed by a massive terror attack, probably involving a nuclear weapon.
In January, I have a book coming out called Critical Mass which deals with nuclear terrorism. To write it, I studied the realities of nuclear nonproliferation carefully, and there is little question in my mind but that weapons-grade nuclear materials or even actual bombs, are hidden away in the west right now.
In my book, a nuclear weapon is detonated first over a large American city, then over a European one, whereupon a shadowy terrorist group demands that the world convert to Islam. And the world is caught like a rat in a trap, because nobody knows if there are more bombs hidden in other cities.
Obviously, an extreme scenario, but we are living in extraordinary times, and frankly, I don't think it's beyond possibility, not at all. The more I learned about the realities of nuclear nonproliferation, the more I came to understand that it's a very hard thing to achieve--so much so that it may be impossible. To make matters worse, very little was spent on hardening US borders against nuclear smuggling. Incredibly, our most vulnerable entry point, which is the Port of Los Angeles, was not fitted with detection equipment until last year. That is to say, the government waited six years before actually deploying some sort of protection in the port that controls 70% of American trade.
We are facing an economic disaster on a scale never before seen in human history, involving a massive increase in our national debt BEFORE the jobless situation turns into a rout, as it will. During the Great Depression, the government had an ace in the hole: it could safely print money. That is not the case now. In other words, there is no net this time, not with the fantastic deficit we are running.
Congress is in a no-win situation. The bailout will fail because it will cause the dollar to collapse. But if there is no bailout, the entire credit system will fail. This will mean that there will be no money to borrow to buy a car, certainly not a house, or even to finance business inventories or things like cash flows.
If there is no bailout, very quickly, and by that I mean over the next few months, the economy will grind to a halt. I believe that many banks--quite possibly most of them--may fail. If there is a bailout, that won't happen, at least, not for a while, but with a collapsed dollar the economy of the entire world is going into a tailspin which will take years to put right.
Meantime, virtually every country on earth will experience severe economic disruption, on a scale that has not only not been seen since the Depression, but that has never before been seen.
So there must and will be a bailout. But the reason one is needed at all goes back to my September 10 journal entry: the abandonment of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act has allowed companies to get too big--that is to say, too big to fail. This means that huge corporations always now have a safety net--us, the taxpayers.
To me, this feels like a gigantic scam, but, in reality, nobody expected these entities to fail. Now that this has happened, though, we need leadership that will enforce Sherman and compel a lot of these gigantic entities to break up. This way, we really will have a free market. Six or ten giant companies do not constitute a free market. That's corporate socialism, and we are seeing the result: the only thing that can now save the situation is a huge dose of state socialism.
The economic situation is bad, obviously, and terrorism is a danger, but, incredibly, our overall situation gets worse, and this has to do with climate. Recently on Unknowncountry, we ran a story about starving polar bears. They are starving because the arctic summer has been too warm because of global warming. But there is another concealed problem that is far more serious even than their suffering. It is that massive quantities of methane gas are being released by melting arctic permafrost. Methane is a far more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, and the result of this release is going to be dramatically higher temperatures next year and the year after, with the result that even more outgassing will take place.
Temperatures are going to literally shoot up worldwide during this period, very much as they did 11,000 years ago just prior to the period geologists call the Younger Dryas. The ice age had ended, and warming had begun. But massive quantities of methane were trapped in the world's permafrost, and it flooded the atmosphere, so temperatures shot up to about where they are today.
Then the trapped methane ran out, and the atmosphere was suddenly clear of it. Temperatures plummeted, and, as German scientists have recently discovered and Art Bell and I predicted in Superstorm, the climate went from warm to cold in a single season.
All of this is going to happen again, and in the context of the worst economic crisis we have ever known, not to mention the possibility of terror attacks of extraordinary power.
Let me give you a timeline.
First, the most likely time for a terror attack is this October.
At the same time, bailout or no bailout, over the next eight weeks we will see extraordinary changes in financial markets and in our lives.
(How the sun affects our weather is controversial, but there is general agreement that it gets warmer during solar maxima.) At present, the solar wind is probably as low as it has ever been, so the sun could help us here.
I think that there is a very real risk of terrorism and social upheaval right now, or those troops would not have been deployed to the U.S.
It could be--in fact, it's probable--that the bailout will be approved by congress in some form this weekend. If that happens, the stock markets will respond explosively next week and gold will plummet.
If so, it would be a good time to put cash into the yellow stuff, it seems to me. But
I'm no investment adviser, so don't take my word for it.

Why we are in so much Financial Trouble...
The paragraph that I am quoting below is EXACTLY why we are in such a mess!
I will highlight the key sentance in bold for everyone.....and then we wonder why this mess has gotten so out of control......
_______________________________________________________________________
Government Seizes WaMu and Sells Some Assets - NYTimes.com: "But the seizure and the deal with JPMorgan came as a shock to Washington Mutual’s board, which was kept completely in the dark: the company’s new chief executive, Alan H. Fishman, was in midair, flying from New York to Seattle at the time the deal was finally brokered, according to people briefed on the situation.
Mr. Fishman, who has been on the job for less than three weeks, is eligible for $11.6 million in cash severance and will get to keep his $7.5 million signing bonus, according to an analysis by James F. Reda and Associates.
WaMu was not immediately available for comment."

Continuing News on the Bailout of the Financial Meltdown

I say let the crisis evolve without government intrusion and let the cards fall where they may.
If Wall Street comes crumbling down so be it....the world will eventually be better off if we get rid of all this "nonexistent" money and add to that getting rid of all the "high paid" executives that head these companies as they get obliterated.
The common man (most of us) will recover just fine in the long run.
I personally cant see us taxpayers bailing out all of these companies that have been careless and wreckless for the longest time.
Maybe this could be the start of a new "everyone gets a piece of the pie" economy where money doesnt mean as much such as the world that is potrayed in series such as "Star Trek" where everyone does things to contribute to society but the haves and the have nots of people are more equally balanced and no one is poor and no one is rich....we would all be pretty much the same.
Getting rid of famine and making this world livable for each and every soul that inhabits this planet.
Well at least those are my thoughts but what do I know as I am only a little peon in this big old world we all inhabit....

The New World Order Keeps Diggin In...
Bush asks for sweeping "financial powers" in order to stabilize the U.S. financial system!!!
What else does the NWO want in return for giving $700 billion and maybe even $1 trillion dollars to various banks and investment houses???
A paragraph from the following article: The proposal does not require that the government receive anything from banks in return for unloading their bad assets. But it would allow Treasury to designate financial institutions as "agents of the government," and mandate that they perform any "reasonable duties" that might entail.
What may I ask are "resonable duties"...?
Time will tell...but I do not think this is going in a good direction.
That is unless you are part of the Illuminatti or one of their cover orginazations.

Will They Heed the Warning??
It seems the biggest science experiment in decades has hit a snag after it's initial start up. I wrote about the super collidor a few posts ago. These scientists are trying to recreate the conditions that led to the creation of the Big Bang (the percieved creation of the universe) and if you ask me, they are playing with fire and potential trouble.
And now the story comes out that there indeed has been a snag of sorts and they have had to cease operating this experiment untill they can figure out what went wrong.
I sure hope they know what they are doing.....I sure dont want to see our world sucked into a black hole because of this...

The 2nd Great Depression-2008
I do not think I am far off in the above heading after reading what has been happening in the U.S. financial sector over the last few days.....time to start putting our money in our mattresses like our grandparents did way back in the 20s and 30s.
And now today another massive drop on Wall Street:
The stock market took another nosedive Wednesday as the American banking system appeared even shakier and investors worried that the financial crisis is spinning so far out of control that even government rescues can't stop it.
The Dow Jones industrial average, which only two days earlier had suffered its steepest drop since the days after the Sept. 11 attacks, lost another 450 points. About $700 billion in investments vanished.
One day after the Federal Reserve stepped in with an emergency loan to keep American International Group Inc., one of the world's largest insurers, from going under, Wall Street wondered which companies might be the next to falter.....
And in case anyone needed additional symbolism, a glass panel near the top of a Bank of America skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan fell more than 50 stories onto the street below and shattered. No injuries were reported.....

The New World Order Continues to Thrive

This just in:
Fed Readies A.I.G. Loan of $85 Billion for an 80% Stake
The Federal Reserve was close to a deal Tuesday night to take a nearly 80 percent stake in the troubled giant insurance company, the American International Group, in exchange for an
$85 billion loan, according to people briefed on the negotiations.
An earlier news alert, overstating the progress of the talks, incorrectly reported that a deal had been completed.

Ok so a big part of this New World Order centers around a few poweful organizations and one of those is the Federal Reserve.
With the above deal going through, the NWO will control alot more than 85 Billion Dollars worth of loans....mark my word....this is just the beginning of total control by an order that has been trying to muster control of world finances for a long time.

America's Financial System in Melt Down??

At least that is what the headlines in some of the papers including the one below are saying.
I have wondered in the past few months how long the big banks and investment firms could go on like nothing has happened....with the housing crisis and the other things that have been going on and yet our president keeps saying we are NOT in a recession.
I have wondered in the past few months how long the big banks and investment firms could go on like nothing has happened....with the housing crisis and the other things that have been going on and yet our president keeps saying we are NOT in a recession.
The article goes on to say that almost $700 Billion dollars has evaporated from retirement plans and other plans.....time for me to look at my 401K (or maybe I should not look at it right now for fear of crying...)
Another part of the article talks about all the people at Lehman who are loosing their jobs that probably they were overpaid for in the first place, mentioning even that there were gawkers standing on the sidewalks outside the building in NYC taking photos with their cell phones of workers carting out personal momentoes in gym bags ect.....I had to laugh at that one!!!
Well if this is not part of being in a recession, I guess I did not listen very well when I was sitting in my high school economics class......
NEW YORK (AP) -- The upheaval in the American financial system sent shock waves through the stock market Monday, producing the worst day on Wall Street in seven years as investors digested the failure of one of its most venerable banks and wondered which domino would be next to fall......
Obama called it "the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression." McCain declared in a new TV ad that "our economy is in crisis" and that only he and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, could fix it. McCain also told voters in Jacksonville, Fla., "The fundamentals of our economy are strong."

Storm Damage Is Extensive and Millions Lose Power from Hurricane Ike

Well it didn't hit with the furry of a category 4 or 5 but it still did alot of damage to the eastern coast of Texas and to the city of Houston.
Alot of the area that I vacationed in back a few years ago took a pumeling that is for sure. I stayed up late on friday and watched the Eye come ashore via the different news channels and it did not seem to be too bad but I guess there were alot of things going on that the news cameras (some on Galveston (Island) did not capture.
I guess most of Metro Houston is still without power but it sounds like most people came away unscathed for the most part...which is a good thing I surmise.
To the web for more on the damage that Ike affected:

The weather forecasters are saying it could become a category 4 by the time it reaches landfall.
I vacationed in the exact areas as the current hurricane is set to come ashore at a few years ago.
Galveston Island is just awesome and Houston remains one of my favorite cities to this day.
I hope all fairs well for everyone down there.
I guess we will see in the next day or two....

Today is 911 (7 years after that is)

911....
The day that will live in infamy.
On Sept. 11, 2001 some 2900 people supposedly lost their lives to terrorists and thus started the massive "War Machine" that went into effect directly after with the Iraq War following a while later.
Was it a massive government conspiracy as some think it was or was it just one of the worst attacks by terrorists on a nation in man's recent history??
We will probably never know for sure but alot of things I have heard and read in the past few years lead me to think it was planned with some of the most important and influental people in the world to usher in a "New World Order" of sorts for this planet. But I will not go into that today.
Suffice to say that alot of people lost their lives and alot of things happened because of this day and we will all be feeling the effects of this day for many years to come.
I remember viewing the 911 site in NYC when I was out there a few years ago. The park where they have the big massive brass ball that was in the center of one of the towers that survived (a bit damaged but still recognizable) and the trade center site itself with the plaques with all the names of the people that died in the towers and the police and firemen who also died trying to help with things....I will never forget all of that and I am glad I got a chance to personally see the site in my lifetime.

The Start of Time Travel? The End of the World?

Well the LHC is finally starting up...
The Biggest Super Collider (and what some are calling the biggest physics experiment in the world) underwent it's first test today in Geneva.
Some say that the things that will eventually come from this massive experiment include the ability to travel through time (click on the link below for a utube video trying to explain a bit about all this):

To Change Washington, Move Some of the Government Out - Op-Ed - NYTimes.com

This article from the New York Times makes alot of sense.
There are so many areas of our great country that are suffering right now because of job loss.
If we were to move certain elements of the federal government out of D.C. and into the heartland and other places where people have lost their jobs.....well that just makes some good old "commom sense" if you ask me.

Mayor Palin: A Rough Record

And more and more interesting information is starting to come out in regard to McCain's choice for V.P. on his presidential ticket.
The article below talks about how she tried to get a librarian fired for not banning books with language that she (Palin) felt was inapropriate....

The Devil DOESN"T wear Prada!!

Meryl Streep has nothing on this bitch....
-She is an avowed "hockey mom" and will probably be one of those hellish "Helicopter Parents" trying to make sure that she is involved in every aspect of her kid's grown lives.....
-Her newborn son has "Down's Syndrome" and she knew this while she was pregnent but yet decided to have this child instead of easing it's misery by aborting it....
-Her 17 year old daughter is pregnent by an 18 year old man (isn't that statutory rape??) and as a public official she doesn't even mention that...only that she says they will get married. Will that be before or after he gets charged for putting his peter in her small little republican twat??
-She has spent nearly 27 Million tax payer dollars for "Pork Barrel" projects for a town of 6000 people while she was mayor (a senior center and sewer repairs to name a few of them) and yet part of McCain's focus is to eliminate wastefull government spending....
-She supposedly used her power as an elected official to try and get her ex brother in law fired (an Alaskan State Trooper) and when his boss would not...she fired him!!!!
What am I missing here??
Probably quite a bit that has not come out yet.....
And to think that if McCain wins the presidency, this woman could possibly be our president if by some chance that big growth on McCain's face kills him or god forbid he dies of old age (oh wait..he is already old!).....
I am not all that wild about Obama as president but in the long run I think our chances at having a more stable economy and getting back some of the prestige our nation had at one time around the world are better off in the hands of the democratic contender than by McCain and this witch.
Time will tell I guess.

America, we are better than these last 8 years-Obama Says

....In his acceptance speech.
The democrats have spoken and their mouth piece is impressive to say the least.
I will hedge my bets right now to say that I think this man will be leading our nation after Jan of 2009 for the next 8 years.

McCain Seals his Fate (Doom) with Female V.P. Pick

I am thinking that a reletive unknown plus the fact that she is a woman will be the un-doing of the republican presidential ticket for Mr. McCain.
I could be wrong but at this juncture in where the world is at, I would have figured that McCain would have picked someone who has ALOT of foriegn diplomatic experience...esp. with all that the current administration is dealing with around the world.
On the other hand, I believe my little "Black Guy" has the proper focus with Biden as his running mate. I really believe that this team can help bring this country out of it's recession (What recession!!) and help settle some of the quabbles that are happening through out the world right now.

Another Katrina heading towards the Big Easy??

And almost exactly at the same time of the year as the disaster roared ashore in 2005...
It seems that Hurricane (Tropical Storm sometimes) Gustav is making it's way towards New Orleans and could hit landfull somewhere in the Gulf Coast Region by Labor Day.
I hope the city and state officials are smarter this time and if this storm does come ashore, I hope FEMA is prepared to handle things better this time than last time.
Well...lets hope.

A New Cold War? The Start of WW3??

After reading the article below I feel for sure that the conflict taking place in the country of Georgia which borders Russia will turn into the Next Cold War of this planet. Even more so, I am of the inclination that the way things are headed, we could very well be in the initial stages of the next World War.
And if that is to happen, will it be the last World War that takes place on this planet??
Will this spell the end of earth as so many have prophesised time and again??
I for one am really starting to get scared.
A long time ago I heard a saying that went something like "When a civilization gets to a certain point with technology, population, science and other things because of it's great age it tends to self implode and cease to exist because of these things".
Are we at that point?
I do not think we are just yet....but I do feel we are on the cusp of it.
This latest incident in Eastern Europe and Russia is a "harbrigner" of sorts if you ask me, for what is surly to come.

The Government Close to Reading Minds?
Another ominous sign of "1984"....
US military researchers are trying to figure out how to read your mind. Will this some day replace water boarding as an interrogation technique?
Researchers have a $4 million grant which they will use to try to learn how to read brain signals, through electrodes placed on the scalp. They may even reach the point where a computer could "speak" the thoughts of the person being questioned.
But research is still in the initial stages.
CNN quotes researcher Michael D’Zmura as saying, "To have a person think in a free manner and then figure out what that is, we're years away from that."
There may also be the problem of the enemy "thinking" lies, which could be even easier than trying to fool a conventional lie detector.
Hmmm......

Gay Marriage Cards in your local Store Aisle

It is finally happening....at least in your local stores that sell greeting cards. (The photo above is not exactly a greeting card....but it conveys the same message hopefully).

I think this is just the start of her being in the national spotlight and if the democrats get their edge and win the generel presidential election this fall I have a feeling that Hillary's name will be with them in one aspect or another.

Gay People want what Straight People want....

An interesting article I just came across....
Researchers have found that most lesbian and gay youths want the same things their straight friends want: to spend their adult life in a long-term relationship raising children. And when it comes to straight couples, a man picks a wife just like Mom.

Happy Mother's Day
I agree with the story below....
It talks about today and how one lady started the observance just over 1oo years ago to honor mothers who spent all their time taking care of and nurturing their children.
In this day and age I am sure there are still those mothers who do just that but here are also alot of moms who do not give the time of day to their children and are too busy working or trying to fufill their own lives.
I for one am of the idea that mothers should make their primary concern and responsibility their children and give 100% focus to their kids until these kids are ready to leave the "nest" and become responsible young adults themselves.
If the above were practiced everywhere we probably wouldnt have half the problems that we do with the world.....

This is Bull Crap!! Money for killed student's families

So the families of the students killed in the Virginia Tech Shootings are going to collectively recieve 11 Million Dollars???
I dont think that is right at all.
Yes a tragedy occured...
Yes alot of young lives were snuffed out that day...
Yes some students were injured....
But for the government to pay the families of the deceased millions of dollars for pain and suffering???
That is rediculous!
When did the government become responsible for a lunatic??
I think giving some money to the injured studends who survived is plausable....but to the families of the dead??.....no way!!

Fifteen years ago today, at 12:18 p.m., terrorists detonated 1,500 pounds of explosives in a rental van in the parking garage of the World Trade Center, blasting a crater five stories deep and half a football field wide. While the terrorists fled the area after lighting the bomb’s fuse, they left behind six victims, including a pregnant woman, and one thousand injured people.

"Communication Isolation" of Iran??
So a few weeks ago some major undersea cables carrying internet traffic through the mideast were "accidently" cut. The news outlets all reported the initial cut off of the coast of Egypt.
Then a few days later another one off the Arabian peninsula which was pretty much in the same area as the Iranian ships when they supossedly tried harrassing the U.S. ships that were there. The end result of the cuts pretty much took Iran out of the internet commuication circle. Maybe Iran felt that our ships were up to something sneaky?????
Could this be an isolation tactic of the U.S. as a precurser of sorts to some sort of military action coming their way???
That is what some are speculating as this little ditty I grabbed off of a news site talks about:
__________________________________________________
Cable Breaks Leave Iran Without Internet
04-Feb-2008
Last week, two fiberoptic cables carrying internet traffic were cut in a supposed accident involving a ship near Egypt.
Now a third cable has been cut off the coast of Dubai. The third cable segment lies between the United Arab Emirates and Oman, about 40 miles from Dubai.
All three cuts are being blamed on ships dragging anchors due to heavy weather in the Middle East, but the cutting of so many cable over such a short time has inevitably led to rumors that it was done intentionally, either by elements seeking to isolate one country or another from the internet, or by terrorist activity.
According to internet network status reports as of February 3, Iran has lost all internet service. US military doctrine includes the isolation of adversaries from access to information and information transfer prior to attack.
........Now two more cables have been cut, and authorities are declining to speculate about the reason.
Cables near Penang, Malaysia and another cable off the port of Alexandria have also been cut. While some traffic is being re-routed, the overall effect of the cuts has been to slow down or terminate service in more than a dozen countries. 60 million internet users in India have been affected, 12 million in Pakistan, and an unknown number in Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
Because of the complexity of repairing the cables, they are not expected to be working again soon, although two repair ships have arrived off Alexandria. In the meantime, millions of people across this entire region of the world are affected by slow internet access, no internet access, slow or no telephone service and corporate data and video traffic.
Because of the US's stated objective of isolating areas targeted for military action from communications, there has been concern that the damage is a precursor to some sort of military strike against Iran.
At present, the International Cable Protection Committee will not speculate on the cause of the cable damage.

Woman killed Sat Feb. 9th, 2008 -My cousin Sue Bourassa
I was watching the news on TV (Milwaukee Channel 4) just now and heard the name of a woman mentioned and that she had been killed on saturday while crossing the street. When the name was mentioned my brain registered it as being a familiar name. I looked on the internet and there was a story in the daywatch section of the online paper.
It turns out that the woman was Susan Bourassa who is one of my 2nd cousins who lived in Milwaukee.
I had not seen Sue in many years but knew her well as I was growing up. Her mother Anita was my mother's 1st cousin and they were more like sisters than cousins and so growing up I thought of Anita as my aunt and I thought of her daughters Sue, Kathy and Debbie as very cool older sisters.
I grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and through my youth our family would drive down to Milwaukee once every year or so to visit this wonderful family. It was always something I looked forward to and as I became a teenager and got my driver's licsence I would come down to Milwaukee to spend weekends visiting with them.
In the middle 90s I moved to Milwaukee and often visited with Anita and would be lucky to sometimes see some of my cousins as well. I remember there was also a young man who had lived in an apt. that was adjacent to Anita's for many years and I think his name was John as well. Anita and her daughters had taken this young man and made him a part of their family and treated him just like a son. I remember meeting him a few times but didn't know him too well.
Anita passed away just a year or so after my mom. I think it was in early 2000 or maybe 2001.
A few years ago I was in Milwaukee one afternoon at a Walmart store on 27th street, a few miles from where Anita and her girls lived when I was a kid. I was in one of the aisles when I heard my name being called from down the aisle way. I looked down the aisle and could not believe my eyes. There was this woman standing there and she looked just like my mom. My brain was registering very strange emotions at that point as I knew it couldnt be my mom as she had passed away a few years back. But at the same time the woman who was standing there looked just like my mom. Tears started welling up in my eyes and I walked slowly towards the woman.
She said "Are you John, Marlene's son??" to me...
And then I figured it out. It had to be one of Anita's daughters! It was Sue. The resemblence between her and my mother was unbelievable. We stood there and talked about old times and told each other we would try and stay in touch.
Unfortantely I had lost contact with her and her sisters (my cousins) and after hearing about the death of Sue just now, I need to get into contact with them to offer my condolances and share in their grief.
As the comments in the below article from the Journal say from my cousin Kathy while talking about Sue, she was one of the most wonderful and happy people I had ever met. I know that my mother and her mother are now welcoming her with open arms and taking care of her in heaven.

Pedestrian killed in Greenfield identified
The woman struck and killed Saturday as crossed the street in Greenfield has been identified as Susan Bourassa, 53.Bourassa, of Greenfield, was walking through the intersection of S. 70th St. and W. Cold Spring Road when she was struck by a car shortly after 4 p.m.
The driver was a woman in her 40s. Greenfiled police were not releasing any further information today and said the incident remains under investigation.
"She had the biggest heart in the world," Kathy Bourassa said of her sister. "If you needed anything you could call her and she would help, no questions asked."
Susan Bourassa had previously worked at St. Luke's Hospital.
She loved to crochet and made hundreds of mittens and scarves for the needy each year and she also made afghans for friends, her sister said. She also loved animals, particularly her lovebird, Daisy Mae.
"She was one of the friendliest people in the world and was never in a bad mood," Kathy Bourassa said.
In addition to her sister, Kathy, she is also survived by her father, Gordon, another sister, Debbie, and a brother, John Schmidt.Funeral arrangements are pending.

NRA=MRA (11 shot in Milwaukee in ONE evening)
So you think the National Rifle Association saw what happened the other night with what I am affectionately referring to as the "Milwaukee Rifle Association"????????
Read on (courtesy of the Milwaukee Journal Online):
11 shot are expected to survive
Eleven people were shot early this morning in three unrelated shootings and were taken to area hospitals for treatment, police said. All are expected to live.In a fourth incident, two groups of people shot up each other's houses, authorities said.
All of the shootings took place within the span of little more than an hour beginning at 1:10 a.m. on Milwaukee's north side.
Police gave these details:
Four men got into a fight at 1:10 a.m. at the Autumn Bar, 2579 N. Teutonia Ave., and one of them came back with a gun and fired randomly into the bar from an open door, hitting four patrons. A 25-year-old man was shot in the upper right chest, a 23-year-old was shot in the left thigh, an 18-year-old woman was shot in both arms and a 22-year-old male was shot in the right thigh. The shooter fled.
Ten minutes later, an argument at Ike's Lounge, 2432 W. Garfield Ave., began when one patron spilled a drink on another patron. The argument spilled out onto the sidewalk, and when some of the patrons saw guns they ran back into the bar. The victims were injured by shots fired from outside that went through the walls and windows of the bar. A 20-year-old female was struck in the lower back, a 26-year-old man was hit in the left leg, a 29-year-old man was hit in the right ankle, a 30-year-old man was hit in the right buttocks and back, a 33-year-old female was hit in the back and a 54-year-old woman was shot in both ankles.
About two hours later, at 2:18 a.m., two men, ages 45 and 48, were walking in the 2800 block of W. Clarke St. when a passenger in a passing car fired a shot at them. The 45-year-old was struck once in the stomach. The men told police that they did not know the occupants of the car. Ten minutes after that, police received a call that multiple shots had been fired into a house in the 3900 block of N. 40th St. Police said the occupants of that house then drove over to a house in the 5900 block of N. 68th St. and fired multiple shots into that house. Two men, ages 26 and 29, were in custody this morning.
An earlier, unrelated shooting occurred about 9:55 p.m. Friday. Police said a 42-year-old woman was shot in the right leg after a gunshot fired from a car went through her front door in the 1900 block of N. 32nd St. The woman told police she was walking toward her house when a passenger in the car said something that scared her and she began running to get inside. She was shot just after she closed her front door. She said she did not recognize the shooter.

2008...The Year Time Travel Starts???

What if a machine was built that could enable people from the future to travel back in time?
At least the time of 2008.....
That is the premise of two russian scientists who theorise that with the completion of the new "Super Collider" that is being built in Europe, time travel just may be possible and the year that it is finished could possibly be the first year that such travel through space and time might become a reality.
Who knows if this could really be a possibilty but the thoughts it conjures up in my head are ones of limitless possibilities for humankind.
A short sypnosis of their ideas below:
Two scientists claim the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) - a giant atom-smashing machine - could open the door to unexpected visitors from the future.
The machine, due to come on stream this year, has been constructed at CERN, the European particle physics centre near Geneva.
And the scientists' calculations show it is possible the machine will tear a hole in the fabric of space and time, creating a gateway to tomorrow.
That means, with sufficiently advanced technology, people from the future might even be able to walk through it. ...
The year 2008 might then become "Year Zero" for future time travelers, since it would only be possible to travel back as far as the first doorway in time.
