A New Start to a Long Dormant Narritive

John's Big World is getting a lot bigger these days....

I haven't added anything to this blog in a few years but decided today that this site (actually my Repinski Family Blog-see my other blogs attached) would be the best source to put my findings and family research into some organized format, so that I can Save my recent amazing discoveries with my family and friends.

I have always been interested in history, and more so in my own family history.
From my given surname of Repinski, to my mother's maiden name of Deitz/Dietz and on to my paternal grandmothers name of Dulek and to to my maternal grandmothers name of Kosmeder.

A few months ago, as I was working on drawing back on these family lines, I hit a brick wall of sorts and couldn't seem to go back any further than the early to middle 1800s, so I decided to take a stab at my maternal great grandmothers family line.

It is this line that I shall (along with my other family lines) endeavor to learn as much as possible about and to share with all of my family and friends, the magnitude of what I have discovered in the past few months.

I hope everyone enjoys reading about my family history and heritage as much as I am enjoying discovering this branch of my family history.

6 dead, 28 unaccounted for in Amtrak crash - US news - Life - msnbc.com

One of my favorite routes on a train. I took this east bound train a few years ago coming back from California. I am frankly suprised the damage was not worse.

Family Tree Search On AGAIN...

It is strange how some things in life move you in different directions than where you have been and how some things bring you closer to things that mean alot to you.

This last weekend did this for me again. I met some very nice people who were guests at a wedding reception where I work. Nice people who also happen to be relatives that I never knew existed.

So now I am reopening a "book" that has been closed for a few years, that book being the search for my family lineage and trying to build my family tree. A few years ago, I got very involved with the search but then work and other obligations set in and I put most of it on a "back burner" of sorts.

Now I am again renewing this interest and hope to learn much more. I have already met a few very cool people in the process.

Wish me luck.

PS: If anyone has information on the following surnames and family lines, I would be interested in hearing from you: (Repinski/Dietz-Deitz/Kosmeider/Pope/Dulac(k)/Kowalksi/Swart/Stroik).
